Bloomington, Minnesota- The marketing minds in Redmond crafted a plan to once and for all end the debate on resolution outputs and self-proclaimed “Resolutioneers”. A Resolutioneer has been a term coined by gamers to describe another video game enthusiast who is obsessed with resolution output. Microsoft’s team created a fun-filled event to end the debate on resolution output called the Resolution Challenge. The team invited several high-profile Resolutioneers and asked random patrons to participate while shopping at the Mall of America.
The designated area of the Resolution Challenge set up two identical TV screens side by side projecting a delicious, thirst quenching Mountain Dew beverage from the Pepsi Corporation. One screen displayed the Mountain Dew tastiness via the Xbox One. The screen directly to the right was hooked up to a PS4, which mirrored the same glowing neon-green bottle that we’ve all come to love. The participants did not know which system was connected to each screen. Throughout the event, participants were asked to vote on which system they believed showed the crystal clear image of the wonderfully refreshing Pepsi bottled soft drink.
One participant Jake Meyer proclaimed; “I knew for sure I picked the PS4! How could you not see the beautifully rendered Mountain Dew in it’s in that 1080p 60fps glory?”
The marketing team from Microsoft put on a great display, and all participants admitted it was great gaming day. Even the biggest of Sony’s Playstation console fanboy couldn’t but help proclaim how much fun they had throughout the day playing games with fellow gaming fans.
While the Microsoft team tallied the votes, they grew disjointed and confused. Several minutes after the time to announce the winner of the Resolution Challenge, many participants grew tired of waiting and started to wander the area or outright leave. The crew finally apologized for the delay and explained that they were unable to release the results as they believed someone tampered with the votes. Participants of the event were shocked at the news. After a while, everyone slowly began to file away.
The Kohlrabi was able to interview an event organizer who said that “We were ultimately surprised to discover that the votes were not tampered with, but genuine votes. In an overwhelming victory, people wrote in their choice and voted for the Wii U and Dr. Pepper!” The event organizer further explained that they didn’t realize that accidentally left their laptop open with a Dr. Pepper sitting on a bench next to the dual TVs.
